On February 27th 1892, French designer Louis Vuitton passed away at the age of 70. He founded his luxury brand in 1854 and was known for his iconic monogram design and creation of the flat-topped trunk, which revolutionized the way people traveled. Today, Louis Vuitton is one of the world's most valuable luxury brands and continues to be a leading force in the fashion industry.
The 22nd Amendment came into force.
The 22nd Amendment to the US constitution was ratified in 1951 on February 27th, limiting the President of the United States to only two terms.
This amendment was in response to the unprecedented third term of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and was intended to prevent any future President from accumulating too much power and becoming a de facto dictator.
